FIRE LAB 911, INC. / FIRED UP 2K, INC. emphasizes the value of recruiting well-trained and qualified fire fighting personnel from the ranks of under represented and target groups. The program reaches out to all areas of the social order because the fire department should reflect the society it protects and its diversity.
FIRE LAB 911, INC. / FIRED UP 2K, INC. understands the economic obstacles for some fire fighter applicants. We have negotiated with Woman in Fire Service (WFS), International Fire Association of Progressive Fire Fighters, The Hispanic Association of Fire Fighters and local businesses to provide sponsorship for the citizens of their community creating a more diverse list - creating fire fighters. With proof of economic status by being part of a Government assisted program, these applicants will be on there way to fulfilling their dreams.
Scholarship applicants must submit one essay on "why I want to be a fire fighter".
Each essay must be at least 100 words and not to exceed 150 words.

NO reference to family or friends that are fire fighters for ANY department.
NO reference to being an Explorer/Firefighter/EMT/Paramedic of any kind.
